Terms and Conditions for HalalChecker

Last Updated: 2026-06-14

Welcome to HalalChecker!

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the HalalChecker website at https://www.halalchecker.app ("Website"), the HalalChecker mobile applications for iOS and Android ("App"), and the related services we provide (together, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Description of the Service

HalalChecker is an AI-assisted application that helps Muslims assess whether grocery and food products are likely halal. You can check a product by scanning its barcode, taking a photo of the product, or capturing or typing its ingredient list. The App combines barcode lookups against public product databases with AI analysis of ingredients to produce a status and an explanation.

2. Not Religious Certification

HalalChecker is not a halal certification body and does not issue fatwas. The results are an AI-generated, best-effort guide based on the information available and may be incomplete or incorrect. They do not constitute a religious ruling. You are responsible for your own dietary choices. When a product's status matters to you or you are in doubt, verify the ingredients yourself and consult a qualified Islamic authority.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement and that you will comply with these Terms and all applicable laws.

4. Subscriptions, Free Tier, and Billing

HalalChecker offers a free tier with a limited number of scans and optional premium subscriptions that unlock additional or unlimited access. Some plans may include a free trial.

Subscriptions are sold and billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Payment is charged to your store account at confirmation of purchase. Unless cancelled, subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period, and your account is charged for renewal within the window defined by the store. You can manage or cancel your subscription, and turn off auto-renewal, in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Refunds are handled by the relevant store under its own policies. Prices and plan features may change, and we will give notice of material changes where required.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the Service. In particular, you will not: use the Service for any unlawful purpose; attempt to bypass usage limits, security, or app integrity checks; reverse engineer, scrape, or overload the Service; submit content you do not have the right to submit; or use the Service to build a competing product.
